Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN)
MACN has introduced three new tools designed to make corruption intelligence accessible and actionable: redesigned member dashboards, corruption alerts in pre-arrival emails, and an API providing direct access to corruption intelligence. The dashboards allow members to see which ports are highest risk, what types of corruption are most common, and which actors are most likely to demand bribes, with searchable and sortable data. Pre-arrival notifications now automatically provide vessels with targeted intelligence about the port they are heading to, allowing crews to review port-specific risks before arrival. The API connects MACN’s corruption database with systems maritime companies already use, including voyage planning, risk assessment, compliance tools, and other software. One member is already exploring the API for real-time port risk alerts and investigating the use of artificial intelligence to turn corruption data into natural-language briefs for crews.
